We celebrated last night by going out to a new Indian restaurant (since our favorite has closed down). Mark's overall take - and I would agree - is that the recipes weren't quite as good as our favorite place, but the ingredients were much higher quality/fresher. Taylor was a bit crazy at the restaurant (loud and a little unruly), so I think next time before we go out we'll run around the block a few times or make her do jumping jacks to get all the antsiness out.
Blogging is a funny thing. Often when I have the time to do it, I can't think of a whole lot to say. Then I realize I haven't blogged in awhile and I have a ton of new things to talk about! Of course, not being able to sleep lends plenty of free time for catching up...

Taylor: Baby Rory Mommy's tummy. So eetle (little), then bigger bigger big.New interests: Her babydoll is all the rage now - dressing/undressing her, watching videos with her, putting her to sleep/waking her up. These are all new elements to playing with the doll that weren't there before. Taylor also enjoys jumping off of EVERYTHING (which must include a countdown), and flipping/spinning with Daddy.
(Accompanied by hand gestures, funny expressions, and voice changes - her pitch goes down as the baby gets bigger)
Misc: Despite her petiteness, she has a great appetite and I am impressed how she'll actually eat raw spinach and tomatoes on gyros or sandwiches. Sleeping through the night (and waking up with a dry diaper!) is pretty much the norm at this point. If she is dry for another week (maybe two), then we'll switch to undies at night.
Vegetable gardening is his new passion. From the books he reads, to the websites he frequents, to how he spends his free time at home - it all revolves around the garden. And so far the plants are growing very well.
He's been looking into the best way to arrange the plants in the garden beds to make them grow healthy and pest-free. He also recently sprayed down the whole yard with beneficial nematodes to get rid of some very annoying garden flies/gnats.
This next weekend, Mark will join the rest of us in Omaha (I'm driving up on Tues with Taylor and Phoebe) and he'll attend an entrepreneur conference. It sounds like there will be really good speakers there, though a lot of the weekend's events are focused on networking which he isn't too interested in. Hopefully this conference will spur on more ideas for his software company and strategies for starting it up right.

My latest obsession is Deal of the Day websites (Babysteals, Kidsteals, Amazon Gold Box, DealCatcher, Groupon) and other websites that aid in getting the best price for things (LightningDrops, Restuarant.com).
In the last week or so, I have snagged a Brother P-Touch Labeler for $10 through DealCatcher (normally $30), a nursing cover for $15 through Babysteals (normally $30+), and a Britax Roundabout car seat for $128 through Amazon (normally $180-200). While I may come across things that I don't need (2 of the 3 deals just listed), inevitably there are other people who do need them so (YAY) my deal shopping pays off.
And if the online price-hunting wasn't enough, I found fabulous deals at BabyGap and a few garage sales last weekend. Gap baby clothes for $2-5/ea - I'll take it! Barely worn, fancy black shoes for Taylor for $1 - sure! Just because the retail store is normally expensive doesn't mean that they don't have great sales, and just because things were previously owned doesn't mean they aren't in great condition.
Baby
She is 25 weeks along now and kicking hard - getting stronger every week! Babycenter tells me that her hair color and texture and now discernible. Will her hair be light brown like Mark's and Taylor's, or black like mine? Oooo, only 15 weeks left to find out!
Phoebe
This last week, Mark installed an electric fence around the yard to prevent Phoebe from running away. Ah, the dream of not having to chase down that silly dog while pregnant (or soon enough, with two children in tow) is a great thing. The instruction manual says it will take about two weeks to fully train her. Since we'll be in Omaha for the next week, we'll start in earnest when we return.
